Eakiet Fair Agricultural Service Cooperative was previously known as Eakiet Fair Trade Group. The group was founded on October 2008 and converted to a cooperative in March 2011. On the first step of formation, the cooperative has only 48 members, now the cooperative has 97 members in which 4 are of ethnic minorities, 44 are women and 53 are men. The area of production is at 183 hectares with an output of 722 tons of FLO certified produce.
This cooperative is run and managed by passionate farmers who grow Robusta coffee. The coffee is grown at an altitude of 500meters above sea level on the basaltic plateau of Dak Lat in Vietnams central highlands. This region is famous for its high-quality coffee and offers suitable conditions for cultivating Robusta coffee. Due to the high standards of VietFarm the farmers at this cooperative have adopted sustainable methods and practices. Impacting and benefiting the environment and the safety of consumers by eliminating any dangerous chemicals which are widely used throughout agriculture in Vietnam. These chemicals can be incredibly dangerous for the environment and our health. Vietfarm standards ensure to produce the safest and highest quality coffee possible.
Ripe beans are selected carefully, then washed and roasted to generate a strong, deeply flavored, smooth coffee that is free from any dangerous herbicides and pesticides. As well as receiving its Vietfarm certificate for applying Vietfarm standards to its agricultural products. Eakiet Fair Agricultural Service Cooperative has also been Fairtrade certified since 2009.
